Spring 1 What is exciting about where I live?

 

During this term we will be thinking about what is exciting about Sandiacre and what makes it home.

16.02.24                Inset Day

In maths we will be focussing on numbers to 20 and how to add and subtract within 20.
In writing this half term we will continue to use The Write Stuff approach. We will be starting to build up our writing resilience by writing all about Sandiacre and will then use the story 'Last Stop on Market Place'.
In phonics we will be focussing on the different ways the sounds /ou/, /oi/, /oa/ /oo/, /ur/, /eer/ can be made. We will also be  focussing on the following  common exception words: water, where, who, again, thought, through, many. laughed, because, any, eyes and friends.

In science we will be learning about mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. We are looking forward to welcoming some special guests to help with this science topic!

In geography we will be describing key geographical features and going for a fieldtrip around Sandiacre to consider what geographical features and landmarks there are in the local area.
In art we will be learning about different drawing skills and will be creating our very own observational drawing.
In RE we will be learning about who is a Muslim and what Muslims believe.
In ICT we will be learning about how to programme virtual Bee-bots.
In P.E. will be practising our dance skills and further developing our balance and coordination skills.
In PSHE we will be learning all about personal safety.
In music we will be exploring temp and using our voices and bodies expressively.
