Autumn 2 How Have Toys Changed?

 

During this term we will be investigating what it means to be belong, specifically belonging to the Ladycross family.

In maths, we will be focusing on addition, subtraction and introducing numbers to 20. We will also be investigating 2D and 3D shapes.
This half term we will be using The Gingerbread Man to create some exciting writing. We will continue to focus hard on our letter and number formation, ensuring that our letters are consistent in size.

In phonics, we will be focusing on the different ways the sounds /y+oo/, long /oo/ and /ur/ can be made. We will also be  focusing on the following  common exception words: oh, their, Mr, looked, Mrs, people, called, asked, could, water and where.

 In science, we will be investigating the properties of different materials. We will finish our learning by investigating what material would make the best raincoat for our teddy bear!

In history we will be investigating how childhood was different for the grown ups in our family. 

In DT we will be learning all about moving parts in books and creating our very own Christmas card.

In ICT we will be learning all about computer systems and networks. We will be learning how to access websites and how to draw electronic pictures.

In P.E. will be improving our gymnastic skills. We will also be working on our sending and receiving skills.
