Active Uniform for Foundation Unit

From September 2025 the Foundation unit are moving to an active uniform.

Nursery and Reception pupils will still have school uniform but it will be more relaxed for ease of play and independence in accessing the toilet.

The active uniform is

• Elastic waistband joggers – navy or black. These need to be plain with no logos or slogans. No leggings please
• Or elastic waistband jersey jogger shorts – navy or black. These need to be plain with no logos or slogans
• White or sky blue polo shirt
• Royal blue jumper or cardigan
• Shoes should be black school shoes or plain navy / black trainers

Nursery and Reception children can still wear the traditional school uniform if they wish, but we are particularly encouraging this easy active uniform instead of traditional school trousers. Traditional skirts, pinafores and summer dresses / playsuits (in blue gingham) are still welcome.

Plain jumpers from the supermarket are fine, but if you would like to have the Ladycross badge on the jumper then these are available from Uniformality in Borrowash and SimplyFirst in Sandiacre.

Uniform for Year 1 & Year 2

The school uniform is:-

• Royal blue sweatshirt / cardigan / fleece
• Charcoal grey trousers / shorts / skirt / pinafore
• White or sky blue polo shirt
• Shoes should be black school shoes
• In summer months, blue gingham summer dress or playsuit.

For PE the uniform is:-

• Navy shorts / joggers / sweatshirt / hoody (these should not have branded slogans)
• White T-shirt
• Black plimsolls or white/black trainers

Our sweatshirts, cardigans and fleeces are available with the Ladycross logo. We do not insist that parents purchase these items and you are welcome to buy your uniform from the supermarket to keep costs down. However many parents do choose to purchase these logo items.
